Featured here are Past Stars of our much loved Sheltie Family . . .
We miss them every day and are so thankful for having had them with
us as long as we did. There will never be any way they can be
replaced ... but we are so grateful to have their descendants who
will, hopefully, carry on their beautiful spirits.
Graham was a 15" red sable dog who had an outstanding show career. He won the Open Sable Class at the Houston National and finished with three majors under noted breeder/judges. In his 3 appearances at the ASSA National, he also garnered a second in the Bred By Exhibitor class, as well as a third in the Veterans class at his last National. Graham excelled in movement, refinement of head, and softness of expression. He had a great front and rear, and a beautiful, smiling face. He produced well for us and was the sire of a Group I winner Ch. Sea Oak Fire in the Sky and other champions including Ch. Sea Oak Clearsky Classical, owned by Terri Jennings. He was also the sire of Sea Oak Heritage Wildfire , our beloved Josie, whose face we see in our current young shelties.
GROUP 1 WINNER. . Charlie was a 15" non white-factored red sable and a super-turned on show dog. His beautiful headpiece, outstanding side gait, and excellent front all contributed to his Group 1 win under judge Victor Boutwell. Many people have commented that his face was very reminiscent of Ch. Sunnybrook's Heritage Spirit, ROM. We consider that the ULTIMATE compliment!
Charlie was the sire of Bryt’s Cadi My Love (ptd), a
beautiful little sheltie (owned by Cherry Ashley) who produced two
champions when she was bred to Ch. Conestoga Before The Mast: Ch.
Sea Oak’s Flashfire of Cygnet and Ch Cygnet Braveheart.
Splinters was 15 1/4", PURE FOR SABLE and non white-factored. He had superb movement and passed it on to his kids along with his solid, sensible temperament. I combined Splinters with my sable lines and was very pleased with the results. He consistently improved earset and rears.
Splinters won the 6-9 Puppy Class at the Houston ASSA
National and was one of four considered for WD by Dorothy
Christiansen. He finished in great style with three majors,
including two specialty wins under breeder/judges.
GROUP 1 WINNER
Wags was a 14 3/4" non white-factored, bi-factored
sable. His show career included a BOB over Specials and a Group 1
from the Classes.
Spencer was a 15 1/2" non white-factored tricolor. In
very limited use, he was the sire of Ch. Heritage Crossfire, Ch. Sea
Oak Sudden Celebration, Sea Oak Sudden Celebrity and Sea Oak Sudden
Sensation.
OUR WONDERFUL FOUNDATION BITCH KP was an adorable little (13 ¾") girl who produced some of our very best dogs. Though small, she was very substantial and beautifully built. Bred to Ch. Sea Oak’s Light My Fire, KP produced Ch. Sea Oak’s Fire in the Sky, Ch. Sea Oak Clearsky Classical, Sea Oak’s Firelight , Sea Oak Windward Adventure, Sea Oak Heritage Wildfire, and Sea Oak’s Bonfire at Hillbrae. In every Sea Oak litter I hope to find another like KP.
"Christy"
Sired by Ch. Sea Oak's Light My Fire , Josie was a full sister to Ch. Sea Oak Fire In The Sky ("Charlie") and Ch. Sea Oak Clearsky Classical ("Christy"). Josie will always be remembered as one of our very favorites. She was a homebody who preferred to greet visitors and oversee the household activities. She never cared to be in the show ring. However, she was invaluable to our breeding program. Josie was the dam of:
